May 2011 Question & Answer Visit To Mindman Industrial Ltd-
John Ramskill Returns From Week In Taiwan
John Ramskill our Sales Director has once again been on his travels, this time he spent the week with Mindman during which time he spent time with key technical and commercial staff.
Q: What was your most significant observation at The Mindman Factory?
JR: Investment in new machinery and assembly equipment was one of the most evident things I noticed from 3 years ago, I believe factory space has doubled and they have also built a new automated warehouse.

Q: Who did you meet ?
JR: It was a pleasure once again to meet Andrew Huang who I have known now for more than 12 years and who has recently promoted to the position of President. It was also nice to meet some of the production staff many of whom have been with Mindman since 1979.

Q: What can we expect from Mindman in the next 6 months ?
JR: Cylinders are one of Mindman's Core Strengths, and in June 2011 we at Matara will start to receive new ISO-VDMA Cylinder Kits which will enable us to save time with our own manufacturing and testing procedures whilst not needing to increase prices to our customers. A new VDMA 200Ø Cylinder will shortly be available as will non rotating ISO 6432 Cylinders and by the end of 2011 a new range of ISO 21287 Compact VDMA Cylinders.
Q: What did you think of the Pisco Factory in Tainan ?
JR: Automation, Automation and more Automation was the underlying trend within the Pisco Factory. Every Single Push-In fitting was assembled and tested by highly automated machinery and in an age where many people associate cost reductions with low cost labour, it was a pleasure to witness such high levels of technology being used for what many people in the pneumatics industry, consider a relatively low technology product.
Q: What does the new Automated Warehouse Mean For Matara and Its Customers ?
JR: In short, it means shorter lead times for many products as component parts are held in part finished form and can be called upon daily to fulfil urgent orders, negating the need for Matara to work on long lead times to their own customers.
