Linear Rail and Guides

PRECISION LINEAR RAIL AND LINEAR GUIDES FROM PMI

Established in 1990, Precision Motion Industries (PMI) has been manufacturing linear rail and linear rail guides to suit a wide variety of industrial applications. With over 30 years of experience, PMI now dominates the Asian machine tool industry. This is why we are so proud to offer PMI linear rail and linear rail guide solutions to our customers here in the UK.

PMI linear rail and linear rail guides are manufactured from materials sourced from Germany. This material is then subjected to extremely rigorous heat treatment and grinding processes. Armoloy coating is also offered as an optional extra. PMI linear rail and linear rail guides can be machined at our large machine shop facility to create extremely high-quality linear rail and bearing assembly solutions.

WHAT IS A LINEAR RAIL?

Put simply, a linear rail is a common linear motion component that allows for the smooth movement of loads along one single axis. Here at Matara, we can manufacture fully bespoke linear rail solutions, with each linear rail cut to a specified length alongside pitch mounting holes for easy installation. Linear guides also make use of mounting holes to fix the load that the rail is transporting.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING A PMI LINEAR RAIL AND LINEAR GUIDE?

  • PMI linear rails offer high positioning accuracy.
  • Lower frictional resistance, meaning that a high level of precision can be achieved.
  • High rigidity for load-bearing in four directions.
  • Suitable for high-speed applications due to the low-friction design.

WHICH APPLICATIONS NEED A LINEAR RAIL SYSTEM?

Here at Matara, we hold a large stock of linear rail and linear guides to suit a variety of industrial applications. At our large design and machining facility, we can deliver an unrivalled level of project support, manufacturing a variety of bespoke linear rail solutions. With over 25 years of experience, our team of expert machinists and engineers can deliver a solution that is designed specifically to meet your needs.

The most common linear rail applications include:

  • Pick and place systems
  • Support systems for actuators used in XYZ Gantry systems
  • Industrial door runners
  • Train door runners
  • Support guides for rodless cylinders
  • Machine tools
  • Special purpose machinery
  • Automation systems
  • Printing & packaging machinery

LINEAR RAILS AND GUIDES FROM MATARA

Here at Matara, we have a large machine shop facility that means we can offer:

  • Linear rails cut to custom lengths to suit your application.
Same day butt joints from sizes 7mm > 65mm wide.
  • Linear rails can be manufactured with a tapped hole.
  • Linear rails can be manufactured with dowel holes and dowels if required.

From heavy load type to wide type, Matara has a linear rail solution for almost every industrial application requirement. With a partnership of over 20 years, our technical team has extensive knowledge of the PMI linear guide and linear rail range.
